Für „Wir die Wand“ ist auf der Südtribüne von Borussia Dortmund gefilmt worden. Der WDR-Autor Klaus Martens hat elf Fans des Fußballvereins ein Bundesliga-Spiel lang begleitet.
Entstanden ist eine intensive Dokumentation (am 3. Oktober auch im WDR Fernsehen) über Fans in ihrem Element – vom Gewürzmischer bis zum Ultra-Mitglied. Sie alle ergeben die „Wand“, Europas größte Stehplatztribüne, in der für 90 Minuten rund 25 000 Fans zu ihrem Verein stehen. Durch die Nähe zu den Protagonisten bleibt es spannend, auch ohne eine einzige Spielszene vom Platz.
